'Tis the season of deals at bike shops. I finally decided on my next bike, my eighth, the 2007 Fuji Touring. I had been eying it, among other touring models, for some time. The Trek 520 and the Jamis Aurora were the two other bikes I looked into. I also tried some pure road racers and fixed gear bikes but didn't like the posture of either category. I have also been to hybrid-land, with my previous 2004 Fuji Absolute, but that one was stolen while I left it for two minutes in the back yard of my building. Now that I think about it, that was both good and bad. Bad because it is a cowardly act to snitch a peaceful man's transportation and source of joy. And good, because I had an excuse to upgrade to a better ride.
